National Services
We made our monthly visit to the Baltimore VA Medical Center and visited with approximately 90
patients. They received their “Bag of Comfort” items, which included puzzle books, playing cards, toiletries,
etc. We also handed out wheelchair gloves to those in need of them. L.D. Thompson, a member of our Laurel Lodge #2283, donated
90 lap blankets to Bowie Lodge #2309, which in turn were given out to the patients at the VA Hospital. The next visit is currently
scheduled for Saturday, June 20 th. If you wish to become involved, or desire to join us on a visit, please be at the Laurel Lodge #2283 no later
than 9:20am on the scheduled date.
Those going on this past visit were: Peggy
Campbell, Frank Binder and George Larkins of Laurel Lodge as well as Mary Venable of Bowie Lodge.
Respectfully Submitted,
George Larkins, VAVS Rep N/C
NEWS
Letter from the Editor:
I, as well as all members of Laurel Lodge #2283, would like to extend a most heart - felt thank
you to all who came out to show their support and take part in both the Horseshoe Tournament and the Poker Run that we hosted.
We were able to raise a good amount to be turned over to the respective causes. It is only with the support of our members
and guests that we are able to do the good work that we do for those in need. Again, thank you all so very much! Words cannot
express the gratitude we feel!
In an effort to make sure that all news is received by our members in a timely fashion, I am courteously
requesting that ALL information to be included in the bulletin be either in my box no later than the 15 th of the month or emailed
to me at kathy.grimm@yahoo.com no later than the 20th. The bulletin will be published no later than the 21st so that it may be prepped and mailed out/emailed no later
than the 23rd. It is imperative that people receive news of events PRIOR to the date the event is to take place! I sincerely appreciate
your time and cooperation.
