Hello to my Brothers and Sisters,

I would like to say "Thank You" to everyone for all the prayers and well wishes I received during my recent stay in the hospital. I am feeling much better thanks to my recently implanted pacemaker, which keeps my heart beating at a much healthier 60 bpm.

Thank you to everyone who assisted for all of your hard work with the Horseshoe Tournament, Basket Bingo and Poker Run. I am sorry that I could not be there to help due to my hospitalization, but each of these events was a big success to all of you.

We have many events coming up in the next month and beyond. Come out, support your lodge by attending some of these upcoming events.

On a sadder note, the Laurel Lodge will be hosting a few benefit events over the next few weeks for Tommy Kilby, age 11, who is fighting cancer. Tommy the son of Andy Kilby, PER of Laurel Lodge #2283. All of these events are on the calendar in the center of the bulletin. You will find advertisements for some, with complete details, throughout the bulletin. Please read on for more information and plan to show your support. This very brave young man and this family having to endure some serious hardships. We are Elks... helping others is what we do!

The definite benefit events that we have planned thus far:

Tickets for the Crab Feast Raffle are $1.00 each, six for $5.00. We only have 250 tickets left. Our goal is to SELL OUT completely! So, come out to the lodge a purchase a few tickets for yourself or pick some up to sell! The raffle winner will receive 1 bushel crabs, 1 dozen ears of corn, 6 crab mallets, 1 case of soda or beer (winner's choice), 2 rolls of paper towels and 1 tablecloth. ALL proceeds from this raffle go to the Kilby family.

Thank you all for supporting the Kilby family in their time of need. Remember - Charity, Justice, Brotherly Love and Fidelity - these are the principles that we stand for!
